OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND SAY "AHHHH"

So after being in bed for a week straight with some type of flue ( I will not admit to swine flu) I thought I was finally going to get out of the house...WRONG! Cassidy woke up yesterday morning with Strep. I did not know what it was at the time but her breathing seemed weird, as well as her coloring and she was whimpering in pain. I decided to take her to the doctor so that she would be feeling better by today ( HER BIRTHDAY). After doing a strep test, I mentioned to the doctor that she had complained that her heart was racing. After examining her, we were told the strep had moved into her heart. We were placed on house quarantine, due to the highly contagious nature of the strep. She was having trouble breathing and swallowing her own saliva. If it got even the slightest bit worse, she was to go right to the hospital to be admitted. She is doing a little better today, still looks terrible but seems to be a little more lucid. Not a fun way to spend her 17th birthday! The women from church as so sweet and are bringing us dinner tonight. It is a small gesture that means soooo much to me right now!! To all of you who know Cassidy's medical history...this is typical of what happens to her. BLAH! Keep her in your prayers!

Missing people and the feelings that childhood brings

 It is always so surprising to me that a simple song can come on Spotify and I feel so many feelings. Rocky Mountain High by John Denver came on and I instantly thought of my aunt Marie ( AKA Re-Re). She was my mom's little sister and I spent a lot of time with her growing up. I miss her. I miss her under 5 foot frame and her over 6 foot tall personality.  I hear Hotel California and I think of my sister Lisa. She is the second of the 4 sisters. I am the 4th. Lisa and I have never been really close. I have so many memories of her music though. Elton John                 ( especially Rocket Man), James Taylor, The Eagles etc. I remember her smelling like Blue Grass perfume and her pale blue Honda Civic. I remember going to a Libertarian rally with her when I was probably 9 years old.  She seemed so sophisticated and worldly to me at the time.I thought she was so cool. She loved Burt Reynolds. IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME...

So yes I have ignored my blog for a year. I guess I assume nobody is even reading it so why bother? I decided to do a quick recap and just sort of ramble... I have a new job. It is great. I am working as a Legal Assistant at a law firm in Logan. I work with the nicest people and have learned a lot. I still have a lot to learn but I am sure it will all pull together in time. I moved. I left my 5 bedroom home and downsized to a townhouse. It is really pretty and very upgraded and I am loving the big bathtub and fireplace. I have a nice little grass yard where I have my patio table and we eat outside often. Oliver likes the yard as well and he has more freedom since it is fenced in. Cassidy moved out and into a town-home in the same development. She is living with friends and working in a salon doing hair. I am so proud of her. She has sure grown up this past year.
