HEARTBREAK OF A TEENAGER

Both of my daughters have recently been hurt and are feeling sad. I hate feeling and being helpless. I would gladly take the pain from them if I could. These are hard lessons you need to learn as young women but it is hard to watch it. I hope they both know that I love them and know that better things will come to them. I just wish they could see the future and how it all really does work out. I love you girls.

Love and relationships are truly one of the most paradoxical aspects of being human. For it is in love that we find the greatest of strengths and the deepest of sorrows. Love can seem to be so fleeting and unachievable yet it remains well within our reach if we only learn how to embrace it's power. To experience true love, we must be willing to open ourselves up and sacrifice part of our heart and part of our soul. We must be willing to give of ourselves freely, and we must be willing to suffer. It is only when we expose our inner selves to the white hot flame of rejection, that love can burn so brightly as to join two souls, melting the two into one, creating a bond that joins forever. It is from this bond that we draw strength eternal and power ever lasting. It is in this thing that we call love that we find the means to achieve greatness, both in ourselves and in our lives.

Missing people and the feelings that childhood brings

 It is always so surprising to me that a simple song can come on Spotify and I feel so many feelings. Rocky Mountain High by John Denver came on and I instantly thought of my aunt Marie ( AKA Re-Re). She was my mom's little sister and I spent a lot of time with her growing up. I miss her. I miss her under 5 foot frame and her over 6 foot tall personality.  I hear Hotel California and I think of my sister Lisa. She is the second of the 4 sisters. I am the 4th. Lisa and I have never been really close. I have so many memories of her music though. Elton John                 ( especially Rocket Man), James Taylor, The Eagles etc. I remember her smelling like Blue Grass perfume and her pale blue Honda Civic. I remember going to a Libertarian rally with her when I was probably 9 years old.  She seemed so sophisticated and worldly to me at the time.I thought she was so cool. She loved Burt Reynolds. IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME...

So yes I have ignored my blog for a year. I guess I assume nobody is even reading it so why bother? I decided to do a quick recap and just sort of ramble... I have a new job. It is great. I am working as a Legal Assistant at a law firm in Logan. I work with the nicest people and have learned a lot. I still have a lot to learn but I am sure it will all pull together in time. I moved. I left my 5 bedroom home and downsized to a townhouse. It is really pretty and very upgraded and I am loving the big bathtub and fireplace. I have a nice little grass yard where I have my patio table and we eat outside often. Oliver likes the yard as well and he has more freedom since it is fenced in. Cassidy moved out and into a town-home in the same development. She is living with friends and working in a salon doing hair. I am so proud of her. She has sure grown up this past year.
