RANDOM THOUGHTS SUMMER 2012

So I have been reading back to the start of this blog. I see so much sadness in my heart. It makes me sad to read it. I have so many wonderful things in my life. Below is a list of things I am thankful for and even some things I miss in no particular order.

1. My niece Chloe. She is such a funny silly girl. I miss the trips we took and I know that life would not be the same without her. I miss her stopping by and just being weird. I really never knew you could love a child that was not your own, but you can and I do. I adore this girl.

2. I am so thankful for the spouses my children have. You worry as a mom that your kids will have people in their lives that cherish them. I am so glad that Scott has Jen and Taylor has Josh. And in a little glimpse into the future, Cassidy has Blake. I feel like my kids have found people deserving of them.

3. I often go to call one or both of my parents. I try to remember that I am lucky to have the life with them that I had and not feel sad they are no longer here. I know my parents would be proud of me and of the kids.

4. Job..I kinda need to find one. A job that makes sense for me. I want quality of life. Not just living.

5. Ollie..he is my company these days. With the kids all buy he is always around and I am glad to have my little dog.

6. I want to on a cruise and promise myself I will do so by the end of the year.

7. AC. After last summer I was positive I would die if I did not have a house with AC. My oh my it was installed in May and it is magnificent.




so those are random things on my mind. I need to get back to regular blogging. Is this proof I have no life? hmmm oh well what I have is pretty blessed.

Missing people and the feelings that childhood brings

 It is always so surprising to me that a simple song can come on Spotify and I feel so many feelings. Rocky Mountain High by John Denver came on and I instantly thought of my aunt Marie ( AKA Re-Re). She was my mom's little sister and I spent a lot of time with her growing up. I miss her. I miss her under 5 foot frame and her over 6 foot tall personality.  I hear Hotel California and I think of my sister Lisa. She is the second of the 4 sisters. I am the 4th. Lisa and I have never been really close. I have so many memories of her music though. Elton John                 ( especially Rocket Man), James Taylor, The Eagles etc. I remember her smelling like Blue Grass perfume and her pale blue Honda Civic. I remember going to a Libertarian rally with her when I was probably 9 years old.  She seemed so sophisticated and worldly to me at the time.I thought she was so cool. She loved Burt Reynolds. IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME...

So yes I have ignored my blog for a year. I guess I assume nobody is even reading it so why bother? I decided to do a quick recap and just sort of ramble... I have a new job. It is great. I am working as a Legal Assistant at a law firm in Logan. I work with the nicest people and have learned a lot. I still have a lot to learn but I am sure it will all pull together in time. I moved. I left my 5 bedroom home and downsized to a townhouse. It is really pretty and very upgraded and I am loving the big bathtub and fireplace. I have a nice little grass yard where I have my patio table and we eat outside often. Oliver likes the yard as well and he has more freedom since it is fenced in. Cassidy moved out and into a town-home in the same development. She is living with friends and working in a salon doing hair. I am so proud of her. She has sure grown up this past year.
